Clerc Milon 雙公仔

1789 Part of the vast estates of the seigneury of Lafite in the 18th century, Château Clerc Milon was sold as a “national asset” in the Revolution. The Clerc family acquired it then and joined its name to that of the Pauillac hamlet of Milon where it was located.

Winemaker Notes

A very deep and dense purple, the wine has a powerful and elegant nose on opulent aromas of black fruit macerated in spirits, together with notes of mint and camphor, tobacco and mocha. The attack is immediately unctuous and smooth, the texture very dense, with robust, forward tannins. It lingers pleasantly on the palate, sustained by the macerated black cherry notes already present on the nose. A long and bracing, still youthful finish holds out a promising future for a vintage which calls for a few more years' patience.

Critical Acclaim

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A beautiful wine and one of my favorites from this estate, this blend of nearly two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Merlot is aging impressively. Dense ruby/purple in color, with creme de cassis, charcoal, and sweet leathery and chocolatey notes intermixed with the classic Pauillac cedar and spice box, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, with sweet tannin and a long finish. It seems to have inched into its window of full drinking maturity, and will stay there for 10-15+ years.
